Meet the new arrival

The months following the loss of my dear friend were difficult and many tears were shed.

But gradually with the passing of time my thoughts turned to the possibility of offering a home to a new furry friend.
I started looking on shelter websites and in the small ads and although there were a few cats that sounded like they might fit the bill I did nothing to pursue them.

Then one week photos for a pair of torties appeared on the site for a shelter a bit further afield - there was no information about them but they were pretty little kittens

A few days later I was sitting in a coffee shop and I got a strong feeling that I should phone the shelter - and guess what! - they said that the torties would both be suitable for an indoor life!

The next day I went to visit and see who came home with me!

This is ROSIE - a 6-month old tortoiseshell tabby mix - who is the sweetest bundle of fur you could hope to meet! And getting into all sorts of trouble already!

I am waiting to see if she has any interest in patchwork or crochet by she certainly like playing with balls of wool

I always said that when the time was right my darling Millie would send another cat in need of a home to me - and I like to think that is what happenedit was her telling me to phone the shelter that day - so thank you my sweet!

RIP Patchwork Puss

oday my beautiful friend passed over and my heart is broken.  After holding her own through her illness for several months she finally took a turn for the worse on Tuesday.  She was not eating or drinking and her breathing was difficult.  So it was with a heavy heart that I helped her move on this morning.  Even shortly before we were due to leave for the vet she was happily purring away as I petted her and giving me a nudge if I dared to stop.  I like to think that this was here way of telling me that it was alright to let go.

I shall miss you dreadfully my sweet.  You helped me through some of the most difficult times of my life and I will always be thankful that you chose to come home with me from the shelter.
Sleep well my love.
